First of all, thanks to everyone for their help on Facebook choosing images for my new blogsite! Your opinions matter to me :) I've put them in their place and they look great! Now, I know I'm teasing you all with these little snippets of things that will comprise my blogsite. You're probably thinking "WHEN ALREADY"????? The answer is 99.9% tomorrow. I have a few tweaks to do tonight but I'm thinking it's debut will be on July 8th. That sounds like a good day to me.

In the meantime, I am super, UBER, ultra excited to show you my promo video. This will give you a look into Big Shots. If you're already a client, it's just fun to watch. Newcomers, potential clients, peeps checkin me out...take a seat and see for yourself what Big Shots is all about. I have to give a HUGE shout out to my favorite videographer, Dan from Poetic Cinema who worked tirelessly to produce this video. He. Is. Awesome. So lucky to work with him. Watch out cause the blooper real at the end is fuuuuuunnnny! (At least we think so!).

Erica came to Lori's friend session and I thought, "I'd love to photograph her". I can't explain it, but, as a photographer, there are some people I just want to photograph. Like, I'd almost do it for free (almost...a girl's got to make a living!). But, she was already a senior and had a friend shoot her senior photos the year before. Oh well... Then I got a message that Erica was going into modeling and needed some shots. Yay! I got to photograph her after all! Here are some sneak peeks. I think she's going to do VERY well!

Days away. I am sooo excited that we are at most days away from me launching my new blogsite! As you know, this is something that's been a long time coming. One last piece of the "puzzle" is figuring out which images to use of me. I figure, if you're going to use me to photograph you, you should know what I look like, right? I mean, if we are supposed to meet somewhere, you should know who you're looking for!
So, here are some of my favorite images from my promo session taken back in early Spring by my wonderful wedding turned promo picture photographer, Geri Ciulla of Ciulla Photography. If you are getting married, look her up and give her a call. She's got mad skills and is just a wonderful person :)

I love "just because" sessions. Dave called me waaaaaaaaaaaay back before Christmas because he wanted to surprise his girlfriend with a gift certificate for a session with me. Well...trees blossomed, flowers bloomed and the weather warmed up so we found the perfect day to do their long awaited session. We stayed at their home since, as you can see, it's a gorgeous backdrop and location. Their love is so beautiful and evident :) Many happy years together to you two :)

I know, I've been talking about this blogsite for months and doing these little "teasers" to get you all excited for the big launch. I mean, if you know me at all, you know I don't hide my emotions and the "I can't wait" factor is HUGE for me right now! Are you excited yet? If not, maybe this will do it. These images are of Dan. He is the amazingly talented videographer behind all of the cool video my new blogsite is going to have. I'm not talking about slideshow type stuff. This is real footage. Me talking (OMG, what's better than that), clips from client's sessions and more!

Dan and I came up with a bunch of ideas months ago and they're all coming together bit by bit. I'll be able to show and tell you more once the blogsite is up but a little hint, if you want a "fusion" session with photos and video, we've got it! It's gonna be all the rage!

Dan is super busy as the videographer of his own company, Poetic Cinema. If you are having a wedding or other event, Dan's the man. Just take a look at his work and you'll see why he's so good and why I'm so lucky to have found him to work with me. Not only that, but he's fun, laid back & easy going. We have had a lot of good times together.

This session was one of them. These are some promo shots I did for Dan. He wanted something less "videographery" looking. He brought his son along for the fun so I got them in some shots together. Made for a fun day. Enjoy!

The "K" Children-A Mini Session | Cincinnati Child Photographer

I get a lot of calls from people saying they really want to use me to photograph them/their children but don't have the time/money/patience/etc. for a full session. I can't tell you how many times I've delighted and surprised people when I tell them about my mini sessions. They are 1/2 the price and 1/2 the time and the best part is we still get LOTS of great images!

That's exactly what happened when Lynn called me. I've known Lynn for a long time and was excited when she told me she wanted to do surprise portraits for a father's day gift. The kids kept it a secret the whole time. Kudos to them for that! NOT an easy feat! I heard the pictures were a big hit-yay!

Going along with the "teaser" for my new blogsite theme, I thought I would introduce you to the family that's going to be starring in a video among other things! SOOO can't wait. You actually may remember them from their session back in 2008. This time we decided to go casual & high energy! We ended with a trip to Graeters. I mean, any session that has ice cream in it HAS to be fab! The result is amazing. It doesn't hurt that they are just gorgeous! Luv you guys :) LOTS more of them to come soon.

Well...things they are a changin'! I'm about to launch my new blogsite...really! I know I've said it before but there have been a few hold ups that I can say will be well worth the wait! I'm SO SUPER excited about this. Not only because it's cool and really amazing looking and it's going to rock your socks off but because it's going to make YOUR experience so much better. You'll see why and how when it launches.

Turns out, a lot of people go to Suburban Pediatrics! I got another call from this mom wanting family portraits because she saw the display at the office. After talking we discovered we have a lot of other things in common too! When I met them in person, I felt an instant connection which helped me capture their true selves. They have three adorable kids and brought along their cousin too. I'm always excited to go places people have never been. They were in awe of Ault Park and couldn't believe it's right in their "backyard". I have a feeling they'll be back to explore more together :)

Relay For Life | Cincinnati Photographer

I've been so focused on keeping up with clients that I didn't get a chance to blog about something AMAZING I got to participate in. One of my incredible senior models, Austin, asked me if I would sponsor his team and provide them with tshirts.
I didn't know much about the event prior to this request so I called the coordinator, Alice Sowers, who explained to me what Relay for Life is, "Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length". WOW! You can find more info here . After feeling so inspired by what I heard and read, I volunteered to donate my time photographing the event for them. It was emotional, uplifting and enlightening.
I will soon be volunteering again, taking and printing photos of participants, at the Ride Cincinnati event this coming Sunday. Find out how you can be a part here. It's a lot of fun for a great cause in memory of my close friend's mother. I, unfortunately, have two very close friends who are battling cancer. I wish cancer weren't a part of anyone's lives, but since it is, I would like to do what I can to help find a cure and help those suffering from it and affected by it.
I took 100's of images at the event of many people from many schools which I will be posting on Facebook. These are images of people I know.

I shot Allison's senior session last year. She was so bubbly and full of excitement as she talked about her hopes and plans for her senior year and college. Well, now it's all happening. She graduated on Sunday (YAY!) and is headed off to Clemson in the Fall. You can just tell when someone is going to get what they want and I had that feeling about Allison. I met her mom, Julie, at her session but just got the chance to meet the family a few days ago. Her brother is entering the high school and little sis will be a 6th grader at the same school my son goes to. Small world! They wanted a family portrait while everyone's still home. Julie said her favorite pictures are when they are in a park like setting so, off to the park we went! I mean, who knows when they'll all be together again. Probably Thanksgiving. That's just the way it works when kids go off to school. So, now they have these sunny memories of everyone together. It was fun working with you all. Good luck Allison. I know you're going to do great things :)

I love when things that seem tricky work out. It's definitely a feeling of accomplishment! I got a call from Tony, who saw my display at Lookout Joe and wanted a session for his kids. He works in New Jersey and comes home for the weekends and wanted to surprise his wife with portraits of the kids for Mother's Day (awwww).

It was a little tricky to schedule because of Tony's traveling and his wife having to be gone to get this done. I love scheming (for good reasons)! Mom was out of town & the weather was beautiful (well...it was a gorgeous looking day but it was about 45 degrees when we shot these pics but it was sunny so we told the kids to "look" like it was warm) Didn't they do a GREAT job?

They live in Anderson overlooking the river. BREATHTAKING! I told Tony I wanted to get a summer house there-LOL! I won't turn down an invite to go out there again so when you're ready Tony, just say the word :)

Lots of pictures with their dog...so much love. I have a lab so I know what a special place animals have in the lives of their "people families".

Jessica is such a GREAT girl. You may remember her from Danielle's friend session. We had a blast on her THREE hour Cool Shots Session! All of that time gives me so much flexibility to go new places and try new things. We had so much fun exploring with her friends. I mentioned that I had always wanted to have someone wear a big, fluffy prom dress in an alley and her friend, Jill, just happened to have her prom dress in her trunk! How perfect!

I'm excited to be posting Sariah's Model Session for many reasons. First and most importantly because she is awesome and beautiful! Second, I haven't posted in almost a week! I can't believe it but I was so intent on launching my new site, I neglected this one. And then I didn't even get to launch the new site (some tech stuff...it's coming soon!!!). Big Shots Suburban Pediatric Gallery

I am excited to "unveil" the Liberty Township Suburban Pediatrics Big Shots gallery. Rob and Melissa Wallace, who you probably remember from their session last year and this Spring, are docs there and asked if I'd be interested in decorating the walls with my portrait art. Happily, I accepted their invite and here's the finished product. Please excuse the quality of the images. I forgot my camera (!) and had to use my iphone!

I did this mini gallery of the Wallace family. They have their own gallery in their home!

The "O" Family | Cincinnati Family Photographer

This is my first referral from the display I have up at Suburban Pediatrics in Liberty Township. YAY! I will post my pics of that display soon.
I so loved working with this family. They are from Nicaragua and have the most fantastic accents. Talking to Nikki on the phone to arrange for the session was so wonderful because I loved the sound of her voice (is that weird?). Anyway, they have a new home with a TON of empty wall space that they want to fill with portrait art so we decided an in home consult would best serve them. We met, took measurements and voila, came up with a plan for portrait placement and image ideas.
We met on a glorious evening. They've got their hands full with three boys under the age of five but being in a new environment without walls to confine them helped the boys stay occupied. The boys love trains so being on the tracks was "way cool". Thomas is a BIG part of their lives! They explored in the field and played on the playground. I was so glad we got some shots of grandma and Nikki. They've come a long way together! That's why I SO love location sessions. The newness, the freshness, the excitement.
Now we have so many images to choose from to fill those walls. Here are a few of my favs.

Happy Mother's Day!

There is nothing more precious to me than my family. THEY are the reason this Mother's day and EVERY day has meaning. I am grateful that I get to share parenting these wonderful munchkins with my husband, Josh. My kids make me so proud to be their "Mommy". These images are our latest and decorate the walls of my office so that every day, no matter what else happens, I can be reminded of how lucky I am.

Happy Mother's Day to all of my clients, blog readers and other "Mommy's" out there.

I'd really wanted this shot for a while. Just to show them how they really are. With a gorgeous sunset in the background as a bonus :)

Senior Spotlight-CAITLIN| Cincinnati High School Senior Photographer

I remember back to last year when Caitlin contacted me about being a Big Shots model. She is only a sophomore so I was very hesitant about "signing" her. She was VERY persuasive so I figured I should meet this girl. Well...SOLD! We had a great get-to-gether and I knew we'd make a great team. This is now my second time working with Caitlin. I first shot her on a cold day in February for a snow session. She was such a trooper in her dress covered in snow. I knew if she could look good and keep a smile on her face in 30 degrees, we couldn't really go wrong.
We left the snow and the suburbs behind and headed down to a very grungy part of town where I had my promo pictures taken (I'm posting those soon!). After my photographer took me there, I HAD to go back. It was like the perfect urban grungy spot. I just mentioned it to Caitlin and she was all over it! She was bringing a bunch of amazingly fun friends too. You can see how close they are. And up for anything too-dancing, jumping, hangin'! I so want to go back...any takers? If I had $1,000 I would… fund a program that brings art into children’s lives. Many schools are cutting incredibly important programs designed to help kids express their creative ability purely because their levies are not being passed thus not providing them with enough money for the arts.

I love Big Shots Photography and working with Marla because: She’s soooo sweet and amazing! She has awesome ideas and is pretty much fearless! Haha, Marla has a great ability to make everything fun including jumping on dumpy mattresses :) inside joke ;) She has a great personality and is generally AWESOME! I can’t think of any reasons why anyone wouldn’t love Big Shots and working with Marla!

Jen really had her heart set on going to Ault Park for her session and you can see why. I mean, to me, there is NO other Cincinnati park with grounds as beautiful. If you're looking for flowers, look no further. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy so many of the wonderful parks this city has to offer but when someone calls wanting flowers and a very "parky" setting, it's my go to spot!

So, we planned our adventure! When she walked out of the salon after getting her hair and makeup done, I was speechless. She is a naturally pretty girl but the makeup and hair just added to the WOW factor! I couldn't wait to get my lens on her and when I did, it and she didn't disappoint :) And neither did her friends. How does someone have so many beautiful friends? As you can see in the video, there are a lot of cute images of Jen and her gal pals! This first image is my favorite and it was the last of the day. This is a 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY" post for Melissa. She's the beautiful mom in these pics. Her hubby, Rob, spilled the beans that she's celebrating her birthday today...the day I had set out to post some images from their session! I'd say good timing :)

I photographed this family at about the same time last year. About a month ago, Melissa sent me an email requesting a session to "get" the kids at these ages. They're only little once and they change so fast! You may think the boys looked much the same but notice big brother "E" has more teeth this time! It's those little things! And their personalities were changed. They were way more outgoing since they know me already and "E" is definitely NOT camera shy. She's a little fireball! She wasn't even walking last time we met and now she doesn't stop! Well...she did stop long enough for me to get some great shots of her! And she even shared the spotlight with the rest of the fam too :)

They are just about the nicest family I know (including my own-LOL). They just have a vibe I can't explain. Surely you know a family like this. Sweet, unassuming, fun-loving. You can just tell they love being together. It's hard to see that without "seeing" it but hopefully the images give you a taste of what I'm talking about.

Rob said she's a "Mama's girl" but, clearly, she and "Daddy" have a lot of fun!

Kids Against Hunger | Cincinnati Photographer

During my busy season I feel like I don't get to put enough personal stuff on my blog. I want to but sometimes work comes before play. Well, I decided that the topic and information in this post was just too important for me to NOT write about.
I've never been able to volunteer like I've wanted to. First I had little kids so there went my time. Then I got divorced so I was volunteering for myself! Then, I got remarried and things were very busy. NOW, finally, I feel like I can do more for others and I've always known what I want to do. I want to help stop children from being hungry. There are a million wonderful causes out there but this one has always topped my list. I just get so sad knowing how much we have and the thought of a child suffering because they are hungry is just incredibly heart wrenching.
So, today, we headed out to help Kids Against Hunger. It's an amazing organization. You can read all about it here. We spent three hours with some friends and some very nice "new friends" putting together dry food packets that will feed a child for six days. It's amazing!
I know I'm only "little ol' me" but I know I can make a difference. You can too. I'm not out to solicit anyone. I'm just spreading the word. I'm also planning to get involved in some local charities that help kids who need food over the weekend. I'm so excited to be able to give back. My husband always says, "Everything in its' own time" and he's right. Now's the time for this...

The weather is so gross out today. I think I've been spoiled by this amazing April we've had. My daughter keeps saying "WHAT April showers???". So, we've been very lucky! Looking at the images of Olivia brings me back to when Spring just started and everything was so sunny! Including Olivia! Thanks to my friend and client Lisa, who had a shoot with her adorable daughter back in the fall, I was introduced to little "C" and his step mom Michelle. What FUN! I have to say, I feel like I have the best of both worlds. I get to shoot seniors who are old enough to take direction and want to be at their session. That IS very nice. Then again, I love the excitement and boundless energy of a child. So, my job gives me a little of everything and I feel VERY lucky :) Thank you to all of my clients for this!

Michelle is going to surprise her husband with these pictures but said he wouldn't be checking out the blog so I "sneak peeked" some so she wouldn't have to wait! Michelle is such an amazing step mom. She and "C" have a very special relationship. I'm sure they both feel lucky to have each other. Because I am a divorced mom of two who remarried an amazing man, I know how meaningful these step parent/child relationships are. My kids and Josh adore each other. It's a unique bond that they and Michelle and "C" are fortunate to have.

"C" was definitely full of energy and excitement. We started in his yard, went to the street for some scooter/motorcycle riding, hid behind some trees, played football and ended with a snack of oranges! Whew! And I got to capture it all! That's the beauty of me being where "C" was, doing what he loves to do. Because, as I've learned from my clients and especially from my own kids; these precious stages are just stages and he will soon be moving on to other things. But a captured moment lasts forever. "C" will automatically be entered into the Baby & Child Portrait Contest being sponsored by my lab for a chance to win $500-$5,000! Just for having a session with me-no cost at all! How will I choose just one image to send in?

Lynne's session took place during her Spring break so she and her friends were feeling carefree! So nice to get a break from responsibility! Lynne chose the park near her home. It had a little of everything...playground, grassy fields, trees, even a house! Lynne brought along her violin and played some music for us while we were shooting.

I love when people bring things near and dear to them. It makes the session and the images so much more meaningful. After all, do you just want to remember what you looked like or who you are? Lynne is a twin, a friend, a violinist, a playful girl at heart. Location sessions with few restrictions let all of those things shine through. Meet Class of 2011 Big Shots Model Jen | Cincinnati High School Senior Photographer

Jen wanted a girly, outdoorsy session and she got one! We headed down to the park on one of the most beautiful Spring days. We've been SO lucky with the weather lately! Jen and I found we have a lot in common. She loves OSU and is considering going there. I got my BA from OSU so, of course, I was thrilled to hear that. Jen is also very into photography. She will be taking AP photography next year. VERY accomplished!

I enjoyed our one-on-one time and then we giggled our way through the friend shots! Jen and another Big Shots model, Shivani, are bff's so they were at each other's shoots and also had a lot of the same friends. While the girls were talking, I learned a lot about Jen's boyfriend and know she's going to have a blast at Prom tomorrow night! I guess the girls knew what to expect more this time because they were posing and very adaptable. They all had their point and shoots out and took their own pics while I was clicking away with Jen. Jen and I stole away for some final pictures. We were lucky to catch the end of the night when the sun was going down.

I thought this image of them laying on top of each other was fitting since Jen and her friends are SUPER close. Doesn't get much closer than that...

Austin is my one and only guy model and it's FUN working with him. He's so handsome whether he's giving me the smoldering look or laughing his a#$ off! You'll remember him from his "sneak peek session" and his "snow session" As a guy, he brings a different perspective to the session. He also brought a lot of stuff to the session...a harmonica, straw hat, keyboard, microphone, his cell phone. I mean, how funny to be on a cell phone in a phone booth? HAD to do that! Not many of those around anymore. Austin has so many interests. I have a feeling his dreams of being On Broadway will come true :) He is very involved in the high school plays (thus the stage!), has lots of friends (thus the adorable girls!) and said he loves R&B and hip hop (thus the slideshow music). Meet Class of 2011 Big Shots Model Olivia | Cincinnati High School Senior Photographer

One of the things I like most about my job is the ability to go wherever. Olivia chose the park and I have been there a bazillion times but I have never seen that tree trunk or pink flowering tree. It's like everything is always new again. Having no studio to be tied to gives me this flexibility.

Olivia and I had so much fun at her session. I have to laugh when I think of her. Why, you ask? Well, every time I wanted Olivia to laugh, she did. Just like that. It was like she had a laugh button. I loved it. By the end I was asking her to laugh just to see her do it! She's so cute! We had a gorgeous day to explore the park. She invited a bunch of friends but it was Spring Break so they were out of town or otherwise engaged. I didn't mind having her all to myself anyway. We had a lot of fun at her session just us two!

This was supposed to be Alex's full blown model shoot but then she went and did some crazy, amazing gymnastics move that landed her in a cast! So, we decided this would be an abbreviated session since she couldn't walk far. Poor thing!

I was "introduced" to Alex by my 2010 senior client, Sarah. They are both on the Mason gymnastics team together. Word of mouth is a beautiful thing! I am so happy Sarah matched us up! Alex, Sarah and the rest of Alex's friends are an impressive bunch! They are all very involved in either track or gymnastics, which I learned as we made our way from place to place. We had talking, walking, even fellow model Olivia giving Alex a piggy back ride!

I have to say that although Alex was supposed to "stay off her foot", really, the cast didn't slow her down! You'll see in the slideshow embedded below that she even did handstands! She is quite the trooper! While I thoroughly enjoyed this session, I am looking forward to her next shoot where we can explore further and longer.

Happy Easter to all of you who celebrate! I am "hopping along" here, trying to get posts up!

Shivani is another amazing junior. I had so much fun with her. I picked her up at Identity after her hair/makeup appt. I really like driving together, if it works out, because it gives me a great opportunity to get to know my clients better. That was the case with Shivani. No forced conversation here. We had lots to talk about so when it came time to shoot her session, we were that much more comfortable together. She wanted something different for a location so off we went!

She's a natural in front of the camera. I set her up in places I thought would work and she totally rocked the session! She's very adaptable. One minute serious; the next silly & smiley. I'm sure that's one of the many reasons she has so many adorable friends who she brought with her. They know how to have fun...dancing, talking, laughing. You saw the "Snookie" picture from her"Sneak Peek" post so you know they have a great sense of humor! You'll see more of Shivani's bff Jen when I share images from her model session. They are teaming up to be a Big Shots Model twosome! Her friends left and we finished the session with a mellow vibe. All in all it was a wonderful shoot.

Senior Model REBECCA | Cincinnati High School Senior Photographer

Here it is...my first FULL high school senior photo post for 2010. If you remember last year, I just posted the blog interview with no "remarks". I just got so busy that I couldn't "do" a whole post. This year is shaping up to be like last so I will probably only be doing "remarks" about my models. That doesn't mean I don't LOVE my clients or have SO many things to say, I just don't want to hold up someone seeing their images because I don't have time to construct a semi-readable post!

So, on to my model, Rebecca. She is an amazing junior who I met when I moved to my condo after my divorce. Her mom & dad took me in as a part of the family. I spent so much time on their deck hanging out at their amazing weekly parties. Rebecca and I bonded over talks on the patio and ice cream. I can't even tell you what it meant to me to have them there. I've NEVER had neighbors like them and I don't think I ever will again.

I got married and moved to a house nearby but had lost touch with Rebecca until, luckily, I ran into her at "The Works" last Summer. We connected again and now, she's a model for Big Shots! There's a connection there that I can't explain. She's like a little sis or cousin to me. I've had a lot of fun working with her so far. She brought two of her oldest friends with her. You can see how close they are in the pictures. I love being able to capture that. There's even a secret project I'm going to unveil later this week involving her that is going to knock your socks off! Until then, enjoy the images and the slideshow embedded below. You will remember Caitlin from her snow shoot back in February. Hard to believe it's just six weeks later and we're shooting in the sun, wearing shorts! No complaining from me. I love this weather. I am a city girl at heart. Yes, I live in the burbs, mostly because I wanted my kids to go to our local public school. Other than that, I'm a city girl. Granted, Cincinnati isn't THE city of all cities, but it's the one I call mine.

So, when Lori told me she wanted a sophisticated urban session, I was super excited! This called for a trip downtown. We found a primo parking spot and bee-bopped around the Fountain Square/Entertainment area. To say there are lots of photo opps there is an understatement. She looked like she walked right from the set of "Glamour Girl/Sex and the City".

Alas, we had to leave the 'Nati. We drove back to suburbia for some fun, laid back shots with her very easy going friends, siblings and puppy at the park. The girls wore their sundresses and, while cold, looked like they were having a good time. It was a relaxing way to end our time together. I showed Lori a few shots from the back of my camera along the way and this one by the red & black wall was the one she really liked so I'm posting it. My faves are yet to come in her full blog post. WATCH OUT!

Meet Class of 2011 Big Shots Model Danielle | Cincinnati Senior Photographer

ANOTHER great shoot! I already photographed Danielle last year. She was fun and easy to work with so I kind of had an idea of what to expect. But, this time there was no mom or sister with her; just Danielle and her bff's. They were fun! Danielle told me she wanted most of the photos from this shoot to be of her and her friends together. I think that is so sweet! There are many more to come! They were troopers, walking in sand and weeds to get "the shots". They were laughing, talking, chilling. The image I chose is one of my all time favs! If it were of me and my friends, I would have a HUGE canvas of it hanging in my house. I just love relationship portraits. The kind that tell you a lot without words. Like, "these girls are very comfortable together and share a deep connection". When the gang left, Danielle and I got some of her alone. What beautiful girls and beautiful friendships.

Meet Class of 2011 Big Shots Model Shivani | Cincinnati Senior Photographer

Today was Shivani's model session. I absolutely loved EVERY minute of it! From the minute I picked her up at the salon after she got her hair and makeup done to the time I dropped her off at her house. There was something in the air. Being downtown at Sawyer Point with the sun shining was so refreshing. Cincinnati is a gem and so is Shivani. Oh, and she brought along some of the cutest girls ever. Another group of really tight friends. I can't wait to post more from this session! Here's a sneak peek before I say goodnight :)

Woo hoo! We can do this!!! My lab is holding a contest for children 12 and under and YOU can win! Cash prizes range from $500-$5,000!!! And the best part is there is NO catch! No entry fee or anything. All you have to do is have a Spring session with me, which you were going to do anyway! I will enter one image per child or group of children from each session into the contest.

Categories for this year’s contest include: Color, Black & White/Sepia, Special Needs, and Humorous. The online contest will consist of four different qualifying rounds and one final round. Each round will last for one month.

There are four qualifying rounds. If you win a round, you are automatically entered into the Final Round, which takes place during the month of July. The Final Round will be judged online by a panel of esteemed photographers. First, Second, and Third places, as well as two Honorable Mentions, will be announced for each category! Cash prizes for these winners include $2,000 for First, $1,000 for Second, $750 for Third, and $500 for each Honorable Mention. One portrait from the Final Round will also receive the highest of accolades -- Grand Prize Winner. The cash prize will be $5,000 for this lucky winner! All cash prizes will be given to the families of the winning portraits-that could be YOU!

Senior Model Alex & Friends Sneak Peek | Cincinnati Senior Photographer

I remember being in high school...I'm not THAT old! I had some really good friends. We were like sisters and told each other everything. I'm still friends with some of them but have grown apart from others, as does happen in life. Thanks to Facebook, I'm in touch with more people now then ever. Anyway, there were no cool senior photos back then. And they definitely didn't include friends. Just the studio pics with pearls and a pretty sweater. I wish so badly I had some images of me and the gang back then just being us. Hanging out, giggling, talking. But I don't.

So, I think it's amazing that Big Shots seniors DO have that opportunity now! EVERY Big Shots session big or small includes bringing your friends along for all or part of your session. And so far, it's been a blast!

Yesterday was Alex's model session. She brought along fellow model Olivia and good friends Brenna, Syd, Jesssica & Meredith. They were fun, easy to work with and, as you can see, beautiful! I could feel the friendship in the air. These girls are tight! Alex and I stole away for a few shots of just her too. She's just gorgeous and fun. She had the hairdresser add a little braid in her hair for an added touch of cuteness! I can't wait to post more in her full post but here's a few "sneak peeks".

Even I can't believe it-posting twice in one day! Seriously! I am neglecting laundry and exhausted but I can't resist posting one image from today's shoot. Rebecca is just stunning so you'll understand why! There's so much I want to say about the shoot, Rebecca, the videographer, Dan, and the cool partnership we've formed but my washing machine and bed are calling so here's that image...

I've had photo shoots before. I've had engagement pictures, wedding pictures, even family photo shoots throughout the years. I realized a few weeks ago that I needed publicity shots of me for my new blog and other things. So, I scheduled a session with my amazing wedding photographer, Geri Ciulla, who is my photographer for life. And then it happened.

The date arrived, yesterday, and I had a session just for and about me ! So the whole thing rested on my shoulders. I had nobody to fill the frame with me. I have to tell you...it was both exciting and nerve racking. When people call to ask what to wear, what to bring, what to do, I think I give them good advice. I hope I did/do! Now I know I will. I've been there, done that. Was I bringing the right clothes? How about my nails? A quick trip to the nail place got them in tip top shape. Would my hair look good (luckily my amazing hairstylist, Blake, took five minutes to straighten my hair the way only SHE can do it). How about my makeup? Bobbi Brown to the rescue. $170 worth of new makeup and a great look later, I finally got home to get ready. Whew! Seriously!

Once I got there and met up with Geri, I felt super relaxed. I used all of the things I tell people: relax, think of something stupid, look up, look around, look away, picture so and so and react as if they are there. It all worked! I can't wait to get the images back. I will be posting them on the blog for sure!

Big Shots Model Meeting | Cincinnati Senior Photographer

I have been SUCH a blog slacker when I said and promised myself I wouldn't be! To my credit, I have a LOT going on that is so exciting but taking up a lot of my time. One of those things is a new blogsite! So, while I may be neglecting this blog a bit, I am fully engaged in getting my new blog up. I have a few more things to do to it before the big reveal!

Another project keeping me busy is my 2010 Big Shots Model Program. I have had an overwhelming response to requests for spots! While I'm almost filled up, I am still accepting applications from schools OTHER than Sycamore, Mason & Seven Hills.

I just hosted my second Model Meeting; this time at my home office/client meeting area. I was only 99% ready to reveal the space but got RAVE reviews from those who came. After getting to know the girls and their moms a bit, I am happy to welcome Lauren & Lynne to the program. Lynne is my final model at Mason while Lauren is the go-to-girl at Seven Hills.

I'll be shooting their model sessions soon so watch out for those posts because I'm expecting amazing results from all of these adorable models.

My home office/client meeting space. I had to move everything around for the meeting but you can get the general "vibe". I love it. It's very peaceful and inspiring for me. I could spend all day in there...oh wait...I DO!

All the snow outside AGAIN reminded me of the snow sessions I shot last week. I only posted two images and now have a few more to share.

I had some fun with these! I was in the mood to play around with my image enhancement and go beyond just making the images look good. I hope you enjoy viewing these as much as I enjoyed "doing" them!

Senior Model Get-to-Gether!

What a GREAT day! I was so looking forward to the Big Shots Model FYI get-to-gether to meet all of the prospective models. Josh, my big, strong, MAJOR helpful husband, and I set off to Panera to set up. The room looked great, people started to arrive and we got down to business! I had the nicest girls and moms show up and FIVE of them signed on to be Big Shots Senior Models! One of my models from last year spoke so everyone could hear what it was REALLY like! We have a great group of nine people so far! I can't wait to shoot all the model sessions! I've only got room for a few more so if you are interested in becoming a Big Shots Senior Model, let me know.
