After my post the other day, I had people calling me about the portrait party idea. I can do indoor OR outdoor portrait parties but as winter approaches, it's nice to not have to worry about the weather when scheduling portrait sessions or parties.
A few people mentioned that they hadn't seen any of my indoor shots on the blog and I realized that since I began this blog, I haven't posted any! It's been such nice weather and I had so many outdoor sessions to post I neglected to showcase my indoor work. So here are some images from an indoor session. It's just a sampling of indoor sessions but it should give you an idea about how to make your home your own, personal, meaningful "studio". All of the images were taken in my client's home NOT in a studio because, as you all know, I don't work out of a studio.
See how nice the pictures are when people are in environments they are comfortable being in? The little girl, "E" was so excited to show off her room and her dress-up clothes. The picture of the brother, "M" and sister, "E" were taken against the front of the kitchen island on the floor!!! Who needs pre-made backdrops with natural backgrounds all around! I bring my lights (or use natural lighting depending on the day), and we're good to go!
When we were finishing "princess E's" pictures, "M" got tired and mom put him down for his nap right then and there because we were at home already! I'm telling you, the reason I switched from my studio to location was because people genuinely take better pictures where they are comfortable being.

Don't take my word for it, schedule an indoor session for your family or a portrait party.
